Review! Wet N Wild Highlight in Hollywood Boulevard!

Hello beautifuls!

It's been such a long time since I've done a review of any kind so I thought today would be an excellent time to do just that!

I recently discovered a new highlighter from the brand, Wet N Wild (which can be located at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, and many other places). I fell in love with this highlighter after swatching it once!

Part of their Fergie Center Stage Collection, Hollywood Boulevard is considered a "To reflect shimmer palette", but as most people know, you can use these as a highlight. On the back of the product you will find the Wet n Wild Fergie signature logo, ingredients, weight, name of the product, and distribution of the product. It is Talc and Paraben free!

The highlight itself has a golden sheen to it when you open the lid and the artistic swirl of pink, brown, and gold give it a stunning finish.

This is just one swatch of this product! ONE SWATCH! Amazing! The consistancy of this product is of something you would pay big bucks for at Sephora or Ulta, but I was very surprised to find this have such great quality for a drugstore highlight. When I used it on my face to highlight my cheek bones, I only needed the slightest bit of product as it also has high pigmentation in it.

Pros:
Inexpensive
Talc & Paraben Free
Clear lid for seeing product
Large pan meaning long use out of product
Buttery consistency
No offensive smells
Long lasting

Cons:
Odd shape to the product making it difficult to store (In Alex 9 Drawers from IKEA, they can't be stood up or they will block the drawers from shutting)
Quite a bit of fallout

Final Thoughts:
Considering I've used Wet N Wild's highlighters in the past, and I really love them a lot. They are inexpensive, easy to find, and you get a lot out of the product for such a small price. I would say to defenitely check this product out. Unfortunately, due to the package shape and size, if you have the Alex Drawers from IKEA (5 or 9), such as myself for makeup storage, these will not stand up or they will block the drawer from closing, so you need to rest them at slant.

This shows how the product standing up blocks the drawers from closing on the IKEA Alex Drawers

This shows how I store them in my IKEA Alex 9 Drawers, at a slant on top of each other, since I have several of these highlights from this brand!

I hope you enjoyed!

Mini Haul! Ulta, Sephora & Target!

Hello beautifuls!

I'm starting to prep for some new blog posts and videos but, in the meantime, I thought I would do a quick post. A mini haul with Target, Ulta, and Sephora. I've been picking up new items, back up items, two room sprays, and my birthday gifts during the last month so these are all from different times.

I picked up my birthday gifts from Sephora and Ulta. My birthday was August 25. From Sephora, I received two miniature sized lip crayons in a gorgeous red and mauve nude shade. From Ulta, I received a deluxe sample of Urban Decay Perversion mascara, which I'm looking forward to trying out.

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation:
The last time I picked this up, I got the wrong shade and it was terrible on me. I'm hoping I got the correct shade (the lightest shade they have). I really hope this works for me, I've been wanting to try this foundation out ever since it came out, since I've heard it's works so well with oily skin.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Rock Mascara:
Another mascara I've been wanting to try out! I loved the original Miss Manga mascara and really wanted to try this version out.

Hard Candy Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray:
I love this setting spray. This will be my second bottle of this stuff now. A great setting spray and $8? Why not? I had to pick this up!

ELF Daily Brush Cleanser:
I mainly use this cleanser for spot cleaning my eye, concealer, and eyebrow brushes. It's so inexpensive and fairly easy to buy at several places too!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer:
I love this concealer. I use this to sculpt and clean up my eyebrows and to cover up dark circles under my eyes.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer & Pressed Powder:
This is another favorite primer of mine I like to use to keep my face and foundation matte and the pressed powder is my absolutely favorite go to for finishing powder!

Pacifica Kake Detox Deep Cleansing Face Wash:
I've been using their seafoam face wash for two years and I absolutely love that face wash. I found this one at Ulta and it's meant for "oily and acne prone skin", which is what I have. I hope I enjoy using this. I will definitely be doing a review on this!

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes:
I've been using these for almost a year and they are by far, the best makeup wipe to get all my makeup off, including long wearing foundations and liquid liners.

Tresemme Extra Firm Control Hairspray
Best. Hairspray. Ever.

Updates & Where I've Been!

Hello beautifuls!

It has been such a long time since I last posted here on my beauty blog or filmed a new video but, today that stops. I wanted to make a quick update for you, letting you know where I've been.

Eyeshadow Couture's 1 Year Anniversary:
Yes, unbelievably, my blog, Eyeshadow Couture has been around for one year. I started last year in late August and I really can't believe I've been at this for a year, despite being MIA a few too many times, but this is exciting. This is motivation for me to get back in my blogging game. Thank you to all of you who read my posts, like them, share them, etc.

School, Work, & Life:
The summer semester of school ended and I'm deciding to most likely switch schools for my veterinary technology degree. The school I'm currently in is a hike (100 miles a day & $100 a week for gas) and chewing up my paychecks. So my plan is to finish my AA degree at my current college (I need one more class, which I'll take next semester) and transfer my veterinary credits to a different school (campus or online). Either way, I'm going to finish what I started and get both my degrees!

Early this year in January, after horrible, getting seriously sick, almost passing out at work a few times, and agonizing symptoms to the point I was in pain and discomfort and couldn't focus on anything (I felt like my body was falling apart)... I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I'm currently on medication which I'll have to take for the rest of my life, and still suffer from symptoms of the disease and I'm currently being tested for thyroid antibodies to confirm I have the autoimmune disease "Hashimoto's Disease" (where your antibodies are attacking your thyroid gland, thinking it's an invader to the body).

This whole experience, being diagnosed, changed me physically, emotionally, mentally, and how I live and feel day to day. During the first month or so, I would be so drained, it would take me forever to get up out of bed, get myself going and keep myself going throughout the day without burning out, losing my breath, getting terrible headaches, and feeling completely drained. It was so horrible, it affected my life, school, work, youtube videos and blogging. I'd go on and on about this, but it kinda breaks my heart a little to talk about it. I'm still in shock and denial about the whole thing, your body is supposed to protect you and your organs, not attack them...  I may make a video or blog post going further into this.

6 Months Smoke Free:
February 2015, I quit smoking. I was a smoker for almost 8 years. Yes, I did it. I didn't do it cold turkey, I used the vapor cigarette options to help me cut back slowly on cigarettes, then slowly off nicotine, and slowly to the point I didn't need anything, not even the vapor stick. I feel so proud of myself that I have gone half a year without a cigarette or cracking back into it. I know the struggle that others have gone through and are going through during the process of quitting; it's horrible and agonizing. I can definitely breathe better, my hair smells better, my clothes smell better, everything feels a lot better now that they are away from me. To anyone who is trying to quit, never give up, you will get through it and the end results are worth the agonizing process.

Taking a break from social media...
I guess I can also say, I kind took a small break not only from youtube and blogging but, from social media. I didn't update my twitter or instagram much in the past few months because I was so drained and I felt like I needed a break from it. But I'm back :)

Thank you to all of you who have stuck around my blog and beauty channel while I was gone. I love you and I am truly blessed to have each and every one of you!

May 2015 Empties!

Hello beautifuls. It's been sooooooooo long since my last post. May was the toughest month of the semester; getting ready final exams, registering my classes, and surviving finals! Also, I was working a lot, had some personal and family issues (everything is ok). I'm so sorry I've been away for so long. Just keep in mind, if you want to keep up with me, you can always follow my social media pages; I update them frequently, especially twitter and facebook!

I'll be sharing the empty products for the month of May. You know the deal, talk about products I used up, give my opinion on it, and say if I would repurchase it or not. Let's get started!

Hair Care:

Dove Dry Shampoo:
This is by far one of the best dry shampoos I use. Doesn't give my hair that white cast, it makes my hair smell fresh, gives it volume and gets rid of excess oil, even after third day hair!

Tresemme #4 Extra Firm Control:
I love this hairspray, it's my go to and is always a repurchase. It's great for holding my hair when I put it up in or when I straighten it to hold it against the humidity!

Makeup:

L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Set & Spray Makeup Extender Setting Spray:
I honestly thought I would never run out of this stuff. When I first bought it, I didn't like it and didn't think it was worth the hype or the expensive price ($13-$16 depending on where you buy it) but, after using it a few times, I started to love it. It held my makeup all day, even around the corners of my nose, which gets the oiliest on my oil slick of a face. Only thing I don't like about it; the smell. It has an fragrance like alcohol smell to it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (Trooper):
This liquid liner is my holy grail, top dog, go to, whatever you call that which you trust the most in makeup! This stuff goes on black, stays black, stays on all day through sweat, humidity, and doesn't fade or smear.

Milani Brow Shaping Clear Gel:
I love this stuff. It holds my brows in place all day through the humidity!

Skin Care (Face & Body):

Boscia Charcoal Pore-Minimizing Hydrogel Mask:
I'll admit, I was sketical at first about this. I've tried a few different masks that are for my skin type and they've never really worked well. I decided to give this one a try and I ended up really loving it. It made my skin feel a little more tighter, clean, and my skin felt like it was purified of any of junk in it!

Clarisonic Brush Head (Normal/Oily Skin):
I used to use the brush head for "Sensitive Skin", but I ended up getting off that brush head and going to this one since I do have oily skin. I'm so glad I switched to this brush head. This really helps control my possible break outs, controls my oil, and really helps clean my face every morning and night. I always get them in a double pack so I don't have to worry about buying the replacement heads for about six months.

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub:
I'm glad I found about this face scrub. I found it at Whole Foods and used it once or twice a week. I really have to say, it does work if you use it regularly. It made the pigmentation and acne scarring help fade away, my face felt clean, it helped with breakouts, brightened my face a bit, and it smells so earthy and wonderful!

Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant (Oh la la lavender):
All I can really say is.... it works for me better than regular deodorants!

Skintimate Shaving Cream (Silky Skin):
I don't know how I feel about this.... I know I said I would never go back to regular shaving cream, and I'm staying to that but, I ran out of my Giovonni shave cream and couldn't find it anywhere, so I tried this. It's ok.... doesn't leave my skin silky.

Samples:

LUSH D'Fluff Shaving Soap:
This stuff smells like candy. It feels so wonderful on my skin when I lather it on my legs for shaving. It's almost like shaving with a soft fluffy pillow. My skin feels comfortable and wonderful after shaving with this!

LUSH Dream Wash:
I really enjoyed using the little bit of this product! It's apparently made for eczema sufferers since this body wash doesn't create a lot of suds, which is known to irritate eczema. My skin liked this body wash. I do have pretty sensitive skin on my entire body so this really help to calm it down and not irritate it which some body washes tend to do with my skin. I'm thinking of getting the full size of this next time I'm at LUSH.

Did you have any favorite empty products for the month of May?

YouTube Bullying Awareness! Giving a prayer for a fallen Beauty YouTuber....

Hello beautifuls.....

I normally post about beauty related things, but today, I have to make this post. Ever since I saw this posted on the feed of my personal Facebook, it has devastated me.

I've been making beauty videos on YouTube since October 2014, have a year I suppose. I haven't gotten many hate on my channel or my blog posts. I've gotten a few dislikes and maybe a few comments about the sound my cameras lens makes when it focuses on me but none the less, it has not stopped me. I've come across so much hate on videos across YouTube ... "You're ugly.", "You're too fat for YouTube.", "I can't stand looking at your ugly face." ... this and that. Words that can hurt anyone. Words that would make me cry in an instant if I were to read them.

I was bullied my entire school life (from middle school to about junior year of high school) for being different; too tall, too skinny, too flat chested, too this or that. I cried so many times, I tried so much to fit in with the others and my measures never worked. My parents were my true heroes through my school years. They kept me strong against the comments made towards me. My hobbies and interests kept me from believing too much in the hurtful comments, I just went on being myself. Of course, this all stopped after high school. College, I haven't had any hateful comments. I turned out to be pretty gorgeous!

The purpose of this post, is mainly to give a prayer and spread the word about a recently fallen Beauty YouTuber, XxTayloralesanaxX. She is a sixteen year old who had a love for makeup. She was also a transgender. She had been bullied non stop on her videos, on her channel discussion section, and in her personal life for her life decision to change her gender and for being different. Even after she has passed, people are still leaving negative comments on the page; very sad!

Taylor committed suicide due to the overwhelming amount of hate being pointed towards her. Taylor was a happy, strong, and beautiful person, and people saw that and attacked that part of her. They tore her down... out of insecurity. They couldn't stand that she was happy with herself. Taylor was in so much pain from the comments made towards her, she took her own life at the age of sixteen on April 2nd.

People may not realize (or care for that matter) how powerful their words can be online. A simple comment on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any social media, can be powerful enough to impact a persons life. In this case, it impacted someone greatly. Bullying online is as horrible as it is in life. It hurts people, deeply. No one deserves to be made fun of because they are different from you or society. They don't deserve to be humiliated in public. They don't deserve to be treated as an outcast. They definitely don't deserve to be forced to end their life over it. Bullying is wrong, no matter how it's done; verbal, physical, or emotional. Bullying must be stopped!

Please, keep Taylor in your prayers and help spread the awareness of bullying and verbal abuse. If you or someone you know is a victim of it (in school, work, etc), please don't let it go by!

Taylor, I never met you or watched your videos... I'm deeply sorry for the pain you had to go through with this. The pain was so severe you had to take your own life. I know exactly how you felt when you were being bullied. Where ever your soul and spirit may be, please do not forget who you are; You are beautiful, strong, confident.

May the Lord watch over you. You are in his hands now, and you are in good hands. Rest In Peace.

March 2015 Favorites!

Hello beautifuls. It's that time again, out with an old month and in with the new month.... and also monthly favorites time!

Makeup

MAC Warm Neutral Palette:
YOU CAN DEFINITELY TELL THIS PALETTE HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS! Seriously, It's gotten beaten up so much from use. Even though this is an everyday, go-to neutral palette for me, I noticed I was using this palette so much during the month of March. I've been such a late sleeper, sleeping in, waking up late, and throwing on the quickest neutral eye I can do with this palette.

L'Oreal La Palette Nude 2:
I was very excited when I saw photos of these two palettes L'Oreal came out with on Instagram and a blog regularly read. I haven't played around much with the first palette, but the second one has won my heart. Every time I've wanted a soft purple look, I've been grabbing this palette. These colors are beautiful and pigmented.

Wet N Wild Shimmer Palette (Hollywood Boulevard):
I spotted this at a Walgreens one night and picked it up. I originally saw it swatched on an Instgram photo and wanted to find it and try it out for myself. I really love this as a highlight for my cheek bones, bridge of my nose, and above the tails of my brow bones. It's a perfect gold for summer time and shows up so beautifully in pictures.

Hard Candy Baked Bronzer (Tiki):
I think I'm the last person on this planet to get on the "Hard Candy Tiki Wagon" ... everyone and their mother raves about this being a wonderful drugstore highlight, and it is! It's another pretty golden highlight, but softer than Hollywood Boulevard by Wet n Wild.

Wet n Wild Contouring Palette (Dulce De Leche):
I love using this duo for everyday contouring. Mostly for the contour side more than the highlight side. It's not too muddy or orange looking on my skin. It's a perfect everyday contour shade to give my face a more define look.

Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup (Alabaster):
I found out about this foundation over a year ago and I love using this during the hotter times of the year. I live in Florida, and our summer is hot, humid, sweaty, makeup melt off your face kinda weather. This foundation is light weight, holds up to humidity, sweat, oil, and being in the heat all day. The consistency and smell of the products reminds me so much of MAC's Studio Sculpt Foundation...

Hard Candy Eyes the Limit Eyeshadow Primer:
I really love this primer. Hard Candy hasn't released a primer in so long (that I know of...) and I was excited to see that they released a few different primers, three for different purposes. This is the universal primer and it holds eyeshadow all day, and when I mean it holds, it holds. It's so hard to remove my eye makeup off at night when I have this on my eyes. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a scent...

Body Care

Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Hand Cream:
I discovered this at Target for around $9 and it's an awesome hand cream. I use this at night since it has the consistency of a body butter, but in the morning my hands feel soft and moisturized.

Nubian Heritage Lavender & Wildflowers Body Wash:
I have the body lotion that goes with this body wash and the body wash smells amazing! I love using it at night, especially when I have achy joints or muscles, which it helps to relax them a little. This body wash lathers up very well and doesn't irritate my skin. I can even shave with it if I wanted to.

I hope you all enjoyed my favorites for the month of March. I didn't have too much since I was trying to use up products before going out and buying more, but none the less, I love doing favorites posts and videos. Have a wonderful day!
