Holiday 2014 Gift Guide: Lipstick Addicts!

Hello beautifuls! I'm going to admit, I'm a total lipstick addict right up next to being an eyeshadow junkie. I have waaaaaay too much lip products to the point my lip product drawer is filling up almost completely! I can't leave the house without putting on a lip product to complete my look for day. I've put together some nice limited edition lip product sets for any lip product lover on your list this year!

This is a limited edition set of satin and velvet matte lip pencils that give off long lasting, pigmented color for endless lip colors.

I personally love these! They are basically an extremely moisturizing lip balm that give just the right amount of lip color. Not too much, not too little, just right!

In this purse-shaped tin which includes a giant mirror, the set includes four mini sized lip pencils from Bite's favorites. They are retractable, high pigmented, long lasting, and can be wore alone, combined together, or paired under a lipstick. Colors included; Sable, Pomegranate, Rhubard, and Winterberry

Fully loaded with six deluxe mini shades of Urban Decay's Revolution Lipsticks, along with a full-size 24/7 glide on lip pencil. These lipsticks have a creamy texture that deliver high pigmented, extended color wear and combined with the glide-on pencil, which prevents feathering, smudging, smearing, and fading, any lipstick look will last all day.

This kit comes with four essential Bite Beauty items to keep lips nourished and moisturized; you receive the Deluxe Fruit Cherry Lip Scrub, Agave Lip Mask, Full size BB for Lips, and two lush lip wipes for removing lipstick or any lip products while leaving your lips hydrated!

This set is a selection of five shades from the artists at Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics which can be mixed or worn alone. These lip tars deliver the high pigmentation and long lasting finish of a lipstick, but with the easy application of a lip gloss. In the set you also receive the #10 Precision Lip Brush. Shades included; Clear, Femme, Electric Grandma, Authentic, and Radiate.

This set includes twelve mini-sized Lip Tars varying in matte and metallic finished for creating long lasting endless looks. The set also includes the #10 Precision Lip Brush. Colors included; Matte, Zhora, Annika, Cha Cha, Grandma, Vintage, Harlot, Nylon, Hoochie, Digitalis, Sebastian, and Iced.

Stila's lip glazes are always a favorite! They give off high pigmented, infused with vitamins to hydrate and protect lips, and long lasting color payoff, while being easy to apply to lips. The set includes eight of Stila's most loved lip glazes along with a rose gold leaf headband. Colors included; Glamour, Glory, Glisten, Glitter, Glint, Glimmer, Glow, and Gleam.

These wipes are infused with Bite's signature super fruit flavor for removing all lip product off of your lips leaving them hydrated, nourished, and smooth feeling.

This set include deluxe sizes of lip glosses, lipsticks, tins, and lacquers from the cosmetic brands BITE, Buxom, NARS, Urban Decay, Smashbox, and Marc Jacobs, including one full size lip gloss. The set also includes a voucher to turn in for a full size of any lip product you wish to have from this set.

This sampler set comes with Sephora's must-have sticks, glosses, liners, treatments, tars, liquids, balms, and creams from nudes to berry shades. Cosmetic brands include bareMinerals, Benefits, BITE, Buxom, Fresh, Hourglass, Kat Von D, Laura Mercier, Makeup Forever, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Sephora, Stila, Tarte, and Too Faced. The set also comes with a voucher which can later be turned into a full size of any lip product you wish to have from this set.

Are there any lip products you're wishing for this year?

November Empties! Will I Repurchase?

Hello again beautifuls! It's that time again; trash talk of the month!

I had quite a few empties this November, simply because I'm trying to use up products completely before buying new ones! I have a horrible habit of new buying products, backups of products, stashing them away and forgetting to use them and then I end up with tons of unused products! Ahhhhh!

Makeup

Revlon ColorStay Whipped (150 Buff):
This is always a repurchase, always! It's my go to summer foundation because it gives great coverage, stays put, holds oil, doesn't show shine through, and had a long wearing time! The only thing I don't like about it is the container is heavy, I have to stick my fingers in the foundation (I sit mine upside down so I can dip my brushes in the cap instead), and the cap for some reason cracks after certain number of times twisting it on and off. Other than, always a repurchase!

Milani EasyBrow (Natural Taupe):
I ended up running out of my MAC brow pencil in Lingering, which I dearly love using and is my holy grail brow pencil, but I wanted to find an alternative until I bought a new MAC pencil and I fell in love with this! It's water resistant, it lines my brows perfectly so I fill them in and shape them, and it's long lasting. Repurchase!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Foundation Primer (Purple Tube):
I use a oil controlling primer for my t-zone area and a regular prime for my cheeks and neck. I don't like this primer at all. It's orange colored, it smells funny, it gives your face an orange tint, it doesn't prolong foundation wear, and it makes a huge mess when applying it. Not a repurchase!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set:
I loooove this stuff! I normally use the Urban Decay All Night Spray when I put on my makeup early in the morning and I know I'm going to be out all day and I want my makeup to stay put with little to no touch ups. I use this just as an everyday spray. It helps get rid of any cakey look that I may have and gives my entire face a fresh and flawless look! Repurchase!

ELF HD Undereye Setting Powder:
Best. Undereye. Setting. Powder. EVER! I love this stuff. It doesn't give me that weird white cast under my eyes, it lasts all day, it sets my under eye concealer and even gives my under eye area a more awake look. Repurchase!

ELF Daily Brush Cleaner:
I use this mainly as a spot cleaner in between dark and light colors. I don't use it for heavy duty or deep cleaning. Great spot cleaner for brushes. Repurchase!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (Transparent):
I've been using this powder for years to set my foundation, I may just cry if they discontinue it (I probably just jinxed it now! Great...) It stays matte all day, holds oil and shine, and doesn't look cakey on my skin. Repurchase!

Duo Adhesive Brush On Adhesive Glue:
I've had such horrible luck with the squeeze tube of the duo adhesive lash glue; it made a giant mess and leaves sticky residues! This brush on formula is awesome. It's great for someone like me who has better hand control with a brush, it's easy to use when getting ready in a rush, and it holds lashes very well! Repurchase!

Skin Care

Bath & Body Works Shower Gel (Velvet Sugar):
I love the smell of this shower gel. It smells like sugar, candy, cake or something. It smells so sweet! I enjoyed it so much I ended up body the body mist in the fragrance! Repurchase!

Satin Care with a touch of Olay:
No. Never again. Ever since I switched to more natural shaving cream products, my skin is no longer screaming in agony at me. I would have dried out, irritated skin with red bumps everywhere and I could never figure out why, until I did research on product ingredients and switched over. Ever since stopping the use of this, my legs are happy! Not a repurchase!

Pacifica Sea Foam Face Wash:
Why didn't I start using this years ago!?! I was using the Clinique Liquid Fash Wash ever since I started using Clinique for my skin care and I found out about the Pacifica face wash and loved it. It doesn't break me out, add more oil, dry my skin out, irritate it... I use it morning and night with my Clarisonic, and it just simply removes excess makeup, cleans, and leaves my skin feeling and looking wonderful. My face truly changed after using this. I rarely break out! I honestly feel like it's done a better job than any other facial washes I've used. Repurchase!

Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream:
Yeah.. I don't know what this is supposed to do. Make you sparkly? I used it on my arms and saw nothing interesting except make my arms smell minty. Not a repurchase!

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Body Wash (Lavender Vanilla):
Ugh, I can't even right now. I looooove this stuff. Especially on nights I've had a long day at school or work and I need to relax and go to sleep. It does relax me pretty well. It smells so calming and soothing. Repurchase!

Alba Botanic Very Emollient Cream Shave (Unscented):
Besides my rant about the Satin Care shaving cream, while doing research about product ingredients, I discovered this shaving cream. It's free a lot of chemicals that are known to cause allergies and irritations to skin. My skin loves this stuff. It's moisturizing and gives a nice shave! Only thing I don't like about it, is the consistency is extremely thick and it wears my razor moisture strips down really fast. Possibly a repurchase!

Makeup Removers

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes:
These are a little slower at removing my face makeup, but they do the job gently. I do have to rub a little more with these, which isn't a big deal, but I love that they are not scented. I can't stand when makeup removing wipes have fragrance in them. These are also very gentle my oily, acne prone skin. It doesn't break me out, add extra oil, or anything! Repurchase!

Simple Eye Makeup Remover Pads:
I love these. They are so gentle on my eyes and they don't cause an irritation like I've had with previous eye makeup removers; watery, burning eyes! I gently massage my eye ear for about 15 seconds and everything comes off! Repurchase!

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser:
Sometimes I'll use this to take off any excess makeup the wipes didn't get. You can use it as a face wash, but I use it as a makeup remover. It's very creamy feeling and gets everything off. I still have another deluxe sample size of this so I'm not sure if I'll buy the full size. Possibly a repurchase!

Maybelline Clean Express Eye Makeup Remover:
I'm never ever putting this near my eyes again. I honestly think this remover used along with the Maybelline makeup removing wipes was adding to my constant watery corner, burning eyes. Ever since I stopped using them I've had no issues with my eyes. I love these wipes. Repurchase!

I hope you enjoyed my empties post!

How To: Prepare Your Skin For Winter!

Hello beautifuls! It's that time of the year again; cold weather, snow falling and covering the ground, freezing ice on the ground, winds that whip your face, sweaters, scarves, bundling up near the fireplace, and the most dreaded idea of winter; dried skin!

When I say "prepare your skin for winter", I don't just mean your face, I mean your whole body! I have picked out personal favorite items that I've used and still use that help my skin stay smooth throughout the winter season.

Hands:
This part of our body dries out the fastest, mostly from washing our hands all the time, which is harsh to on the skin, and being exposed to the cold, dry air. Trust me, I've had dried hands to the point of them being red, cracked, and bleeding, and it's no fun. I suggest using a lotion specifically designed for the hands that is fast absorbing! You can choose a fragrance free to a sweet smelling hand cream, but I have a few personal favorites that are moisturizing, fast absorbing, and keep your hands feeling soft!

Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream
Bath & Body Works Twisted Peppermint Hand Cream
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Hand Cream

Bath & Body Works Stress Relief Hand Cream
L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy

EOS Hand Lotion

Lips:
This is another part of our bodies that gets dried out fast, from the dry air to the winds whipping us in the face every five seconds, dried out lips can be painful and bothersome. Besides piling on a bunch of lip balms, try exfoliating your lips a few times a week during your night time routine to get rid of the dead skin cells that build up. Then, follow up with a moisturizing lip balm and throughout the day!

Lush Lip Scrubs

EOS Lip Balms

Legs:
Most of the time during the winter season, our legs are covered up with leggings, tights, pants, or long coats, so they don't get dried up as fast as your hands or lips would. The skin on your legs is a lot tougher than the skin on your face, lips, and hands because not only are they exposed to the elements everyday, they are exposed to a razor blade which strips oil and skin cells along with it, along with clothing rubbing against them. None the less, the dry air finds its way to our legs causing them to be dry, itchy, and irritated! Using a body scrub a few times a week, shaving with a moisturizing fragrance free shaving cream, and apply body butter at night will ensure they make it through the cold weather throughout the day.

Body Scrubs
I use body scrubs all the time, usually twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells, cure dry skin on my body, and reveal smooth skin. I like to scrub my feet, legs, arms, elbows, hands, and upper chest. This reason is exactly why it's a item to have during the winter season!

The Body Shop Body Scrubs (Cocoa Butter & Coconut)

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrubs & Soap Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sugar Scrubs (Stress Relief & Sleep)

Shaving Cream
You can shave with any shaving cream you desire, scented or unscented, but I personally suggest using an unscented shaving cream throughout the winter season and all the time! When you think about it, while in the shower before shaving, the pores on your skin open up, hair softens up, and shaving strips oils and the first layer of your skin. Anything scented is going to aggravate any dried out skin, especially after being shaved. And to top all of that, the dry air isn't going to help much either, eeek!

Alba Botanic Very Emollient Shave Cream
EOS Shave Cream

Body Lotion:
This is another great item to have around your home! Body lotions are perfect to rub on your arms and legs throughout the day to smooth irritated and dry skin. They aren't as heavy as a body butter and they absorb pretty quick. I like to have a body lotion in my home, bedroom, car, purse, bookbag, etc. You can go fragrance free or have a nice smelling scent!

Bath & Body Works Body Lotion (Sweet Pea, Paris Amour, Beautiful Day)

Bath & Body Works Body Lotion (Vanilla Bean Noel & Twisted Peppermint)

Other Useful Tips!

Drink Water
I know it can be hard at times to get your daily intake of water, but it's essential for our bodies, we are made of about 70% water! Water helps your thinking, sweating, internal organs, cells carry oxygen, and help skin keep hydrated!

Avoid Overusing Hand Sanitizers
I know, we live in a society that says we should use them every second of that day! If you regularly wash your hands before eating, putting things on your face and body, or just generally when you need your hands to be sanitized, you shouldn't be needed to use hand sanitizers so often. Yes, use them when you need them (like after pumping gas, coming out of the restroom in public places, touching surfaces in public places, before eating at a restaurant, etc), but don't use them so much. The alcohol content in them is rather high and drying to the hands.

Shorter Showers
Taking those long relaxing hot showers during the cold months feels nice and wonderful, but it dries out your skin. Try taking a shorter shower or turning the water to warm instead of hot.

Humidifier
These machines can be very helpful for people with allergies (which is why I have an air purifier in my room on at night) and during the cold months when the heat is circulating through the house. The heat circulating through the house and blasting on your face through vents dries out your skin, so help balance the air with a humidifier!

Hopefully you all found my advice helpful!

How do you help your skin survive the cold months?

Review! Anastasia Beverly Hills Tamanna Palette + Swatches!

Hello beautifuls! I've been falling in love with the Tamanna palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and I thought I would share a review, swatches, and my thoughts with you all!

"The perfect fall and holiday palette designed in collaboration with makeup artist Tamanna Roashan, @dressyourface." - Anastasia Beverly Hills Website

Included:
- Tamanna Palette
-Double-ended Eyeshadow Brush
- Five "Get The Look" Guides

The palette comes in a beautiful tight fitting package that resembles the palette exactly. The packaging is good so the palette won't shove back and forth risking damage (I've had that happen with palettes in loose fitting packages, yikes!)

The back of the packaging features information about the palette, ingredients, expiration date, and the "cruelty-free" bunny ears logo. This is extremely helpful for anyone with sensitivity to certain ingredients in eyeshadow products or for those who prefer "cruelty-free" products!

Aaaaaand you open the package and you get this beauty!

The palette has a little ribbon tab under the lid which makes it easy to open the palette!

Tucked inside the packaging you get five "Get The Look" guides. I honestly love these little guides you get in makeup palettes, because you never know when you're going to have an artist block or want a whole brand new look! They are slim sized for easy storage.

Upon opening the palette, you will find a perfect sized mirror under the lid with the beautiful design around it! There are ten eyeshadows in this palette that are highly pigmented, easy to blend and can create several neutral to smokey eye looks.

(First two don't show up against the skin tone of my wrist)Left to Right: Fresh, Blush, Bengal, Sangria, Venezia, Chocolate

Left to Right: Gilded, China Rose, Custom, Noir

Pros:
High pigmentation
Easy to apply
Easy to blend
Long lasting
No unpleasant smells

Cons:
Sangria, Venezia, and Noir have alot of fallout
Slightly pricey - $29
Palette is made of a hard cardboard so it's easily damaged if thrown around
Constantly out of stock due to high popularity

Look Ideas:
Night Out
Autumn/Fall Inspired
Holidays
Just For Fun
School
Date Night

Final Thoughts:
I was glad when I was able to finally get my hands on this palette, I kept finding it out of stock everywhere! I've absolutely fallen in love with this palette and it's a great go-to palette for a Autumn or Fall look. I definitely think it's a lovely addition to a beauty collection.

What are your thoughts on this palette?
